it's beginning to look a lot like... Halloween!

Halloween is my favorite time of year! so, i made a few critters.

group shot of everyone:

a little witch:

a bigger witch, Sienna*:

their cat:

a caldron of candy corn:

Jack, of course:

Boris the Spider:

Batty:

*this is Sienna's dress and shoes. while i found a pattern for the doll, and a tutorial for the hair, i made up the dress and shoes myself. i'll be posting the pattern soon, i hope.

A Guy and Gal for Day of the Dead:

and finally, a Ghost Girl for a Crochet-a-Long on Ravelry.com:

Happy Halloween!

Crafts for Others

i've been asked to make critters for others, as my friend StarryGirl wanted me to make her some Cthulhus, and Sherry wanted an elephat.

i made Lucy Ravenscar's dragon for three different people so far:
a co-worker, Kristina ($25):

Sherry again ($25):

and Jenny ($25):

i also made a Grim Reaper for rhiannon on LJ ($7):

and a mouse for Nancy, another co-worker, for her cat ($5):

Reaper

i love Halloween and horror stuff. so i found a book called Creepy Cute Crochet, by Christen Haden. i first borrowed it from the library, but found i wanted to own it. so now i do. and last night (as in, it really did only take a few hours to make, along with me playing online at the same time too), i made a Reaper. he sells for $7.

Hello Cthulhu, take two

my friend Starrygirl (on Unifaction) really liked my original Hello Cthulhu, and commissioned me to make one for each of her sisters!

these are, in fact, the correct size! =)

Hello Cthulhu amigurumi

this little (??, he's actually kinda taller than i expected!) guy took four days to make. it's my first amigurumi, and i realise you can see the stuffing through the stitches. this was pretty much a "rough copy" so i could get a feel for what i was doing. as it turns out, my younger daughter M totally loves it. click on the pictures for a slightly larger version.

the pattern comes from lemmingzone1 on squidoo.com
